Bacteria were grown for 18 h in tryptic soy broth (TSB) medium with or without indicated nitroxoline concentrations. (A) Biofilm formed was stained with crystal violet, measured at 600 nm, and depicted as a percentage of control in medium alone. (B) Density of the planktonic population was determined in parallel by turbidity measurement of the supernatant at 620 nm.
