Extrinsic supply of TAT-HA-PRDX6 down-regulates NF-kB-dependent transcriptional activation of HIV-1LTR in RGC-5 exposed to TNF-α. RGC-5 were transiently transfected with HIV-1LTR-CAT construct (A) (see Experimental Methods). Cells were transduced with TAT-HA-PRDX6 and after 3 hrs and treated with TNF-α (100 ng/ml). Transactivation assay was performed after 72 hrs (B). Results indicate that NF-κB was up-regulated following TNF-α treatment (black bar) but it was down-regulated when PRDX6 was supplied to cells (gray bar).
