Succinate (20 mm) or NADH (2 mm) were given as respiratory substrates in the absence or presence of 0.15 mm ADP. CN-resistant respiration (+ 0.1 mm CN) was measured in the absence or presence of 5 mm pyruvate. Cyt pathway activity was measured in the presence of 2 μm octyl gallate (OG). Data are mean values ± sd of triplicate (O2 uptake) or single (UQ10 reduction) measurements of one mitochondrial isolation.
