Peak viremia was 100-fold lower in PrEP/ARV-treated macaques relative to control macaques (P = .02, Wilcoxon rank-sum test). Plasma viral load was measured by quantitative reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. The detection limit was 50 copies/mL (dotted line).
