graphic file with name emboj2012262t1.jpg

HFFF-2 cells infected with HSV1 at a multiplicity of 2 were incubated with HRP (10 mg/ml) for the denoted times, fixed for EM and stained with DAB. After processing and sectioning, 100 capsids in each sample were scored for the presence of HRP-positive (+ve) or HRP-negative (−ve) membranes, no membrane (free capsids) or primary envelope (ER associated). Numbers represent percentage.
