Human cancer cells contribute to the formation of both luminal (hK8 positive) and basal (hK5 positive) epithelial cells in the chimeric mammary gland. NT2 cells incorporated into the mammary gland express (A1 and B1) human-specific myoepithelial markers keratin 5 (red; rhodamine) and (A2 and B2) luminal marker keratin 8 (green; Alexa Fluor 488) in the primary (A1–A3) and secondary (B1–B3) generation transplants.
