Cryo-TEM micrographs of polymer particles with spherical, gyroid-like and onion-like morphologies vitrified from T = 20 °C, when the PNIPAM block is in the hydrophilic state. Micrographs are from samples PN77.118K (A), PN61.106K (B), and PN43.65K (C), respectively. The darker domain consists of polystyrene. In (C) the PNIPAM corona has been highlighted by a red dashed line. The samples were equilibrated in water for 5-10 minutes before vitrification. No staining was used.
