B. parapertussis colocalization with flotillin. Nonopsonized B. parapertussis (Bpp) or nonopsonized B. parapertussis Δwbm was incubated with human PMNs (MOI, 300) for 15 min at 37°C. After washing, the bacteria-infected PMNs were incubated for 1 hour more at 37°C, fixed, and permeabilized prior to incubation with antibodies against flotillin-1. Colocalization is reflected by green-fluorescent B. parapertussis surrounded by Cy3-labeled flotillin (indicated by arrowheads).
