The skills and behaviours of individual cases were classified as Adequate, Mild, Moderate or Severe according to the degree of impairment for Communication PEP-3 (panel A), Motor PEP-3 (panel B) and Maladaptive Behavior PEP-3 (panel C) analysis. Mean values ± SD of HERV-H env expression in PBMCs at T₀ from 28 ASD patients were analyzed. In parenthesis the number of patients classified for each analysed domain. Significant differences between groups are shown. Relative env gene expression levels were analyzed by Real-time PCR and represented by 2^−ΔΔCt in linear scale.
