Overexpression of β-catenin in HepG2 cells. (A) HepG2 cells were transfected with plasmid expressing GFP (GFP) or its cognate vector (Mock), and GFP expression was tested by flow cytometry. (B) HepG2 cells were transfected with plasmid expressing GFP (GFP), active β-catenin (β-catenin pcDNA) or its cognate vector (Mock), and β-catenin levels were determined by flow cytometry. (C) HepG2 cells were transfected with plasmid expressing GFP (GFP), active β-catenin (β-catenin pcDNA), or its cognate vector (Mock). The transfected cells were then treated with or without IFNγ (100 ng/ml) for 48 h, and viable cells were counted. (D) HepG2 cells were transfected with plasmid expressing active β-catenin (β-catenin pcDNA) or its cognate vector (Mock). The transfected cells were then treated with or without IFNγ (100 ng/ml) for 48 h, and TUNEL assays were performed to detect apoptosis. *P<0.05 compared with corresponding untreated cells.
