Experimental variation in spring constant and resonant frequency with parylene coating thickness. Thermomechanical noise spectra were recorded before and after parylene coating and the relative changes were calculated for matched pairs. The resonant frequency changes very little with coating while the spring constant increases sharply. The best fit from (4) and (5) corresponds to an effective parylene elastic modulus of 5 GPa.
