TRAP staining identified osteoclast activity in saline and particle-infused femora. Images were taken at 40×and TRAP-positive cells were manually counted for five sections per femur, with three femurs per group. Particle-infused femora had 3.61±0.20 TRAP-positive cells compared to saline-infused femora with 0.65±0.11 (p=0.0002).
