The l-galactonate production rates were determined for A. niger ΔgaaB and ΔgaaB-gaaA strains grown in flasks in modified Vogel medium with 10 g of d-galacturonate liter⁻¹ and 2 g of d-xylose liter⁻¹ at an initial pH of 3.0.
