Analysis of binding of ATL proteins to DNA monitored using fluorescence emission intensity. Atl1 (A) or MBP-TTHA1564 (B) were added to 1 nM ODN 5′-SIMA(HEX)-GCCATGXCTAGTA (X = O⁶-carboxymethylguanine) in buffer (50 mM Tris.HCl (pH 7.5), 50 mM NaCl, 1mM EDTA) and fluorescence emission measured at 560 nm with excitation at 530 nm.
