Nine death cases before recompression were excluded.

The rate of complete recovery decreased significantly with the increase of severity of DCI both after initial therapy (χ 2 = 539.92, P<0.001) and at discharge (χ 2 = 425.48, P<0.001).

The rate of ineffectiveness increased significantly with the increase of severity both after initial therapy (χ 2 = 175.81, P<0.001) and at discharge (χ 2 = 114.51, P<0.001).
