Effects of the PAP gene mutations on DAG, TAG, and total phospholipids. The indicated cells were grown to the stationary phase of growth in the presence of [2-¹⁴C]acetate (1 μCi/ml). Lipids were extracted and separated by one-dimensional TLC, and the images were subjected to ImageQuant analysis. The percentages shown for the individual lipids were normalized to the total ¹⁴C-labeled chloroform-soluble fraction, which also contained sterols, fatty acids, and unidentified neutral lipids.
