Droplet temperature vs. heating time. A 50 μL droplet is placed in mineral oil and heated from 26 °C with an alternating electromagnetic field (3 kW). (●) A droplet covered with magnetic porous Si microparticles; (○) bare droplet (containing no particles). Droplet temperature is measured with a thermocouple probe immediately after the electromagnetic field is turned off. Each data point represents an average of three consecutive measurements.
