(Left) A set of images highlighting the differences between each of the different stages. Note that as pulmonary fibrosis progresses, more fibrotic tissue appears within the lungs. Computer-aided diagnosis systems often use those patterns to quantify and score the severity of the disease. (Right) To test the effectiveness of our textural features, a model was trained to automatically identify fibrosis.
