The ability to absorb IgE when fed as IgG1 anti-IgE/IgE immune complexes was dependent on FcRn. Tracer OVA-specific IgG1 was absorbed more efficiently into the systemic circulation of FcRn+/− neonatal mice as compared to FcRn−/− neonatal mice. FcRn expression was required for neonatal mice to absorb TNP-specific IgE when fed as IgG1 anti-IgE/IgE immune complexes. * P < 0.05, ** P ≤ 0.01.
