Generation of wildtype C57Bl6/J offspring of a) diabetic, heterozygous Akita females, b) diabetic, heterozygous Akita males and c) wildtype mice (control offspring). Offspring of Akita mothers will have been exposed to in-utero hyperglycemia. All offspring of Akita parents were genotyped and only the wildtype offspring were assessed subsequently.
