Theophylline-dependent rescue of bacterial replication. Growth rates are represented by cell density measured as OD₆₀₀ every hour for 18 h. The wild-type (WT) and ΔFTN_0818 and F-Rs-FTN_0818 mutant strains were grown overnight (~18 h) in TSB. Cultures were washed and then diluted in Chamberlain’s minimal medium to an OD₆₀₀ of 0.03 in the presence or absence of 1 mM theophylline.
