Figure 5. AaegGPRcal1 knockdown effect on fluid secretion in vitro and excretion in vivo.

Figure 5

(A) The rate of fluid secretion and secreted volume (B) were measured from single MTs from females treated with AaegGPRcal1 dsRNA (n = 10), EGFP dsRNA (n = 9), or water (n = 9). In (A) time periods E (↔) and C (↔) indicate equilibration and control conditions, respectively. In vivo effect of RNAi on the rate of fluid excretion (C) and cumulative excreted volume (D) over 1 h from females injected with AaegGPRcal1 dsRNA (N = 14), EGFP dsRNA (N = 11) or water (N = 10). Bars represent mean ± S.E.M (A–D) and data were analyzed with repeated measures using PROC GLMM Tukey-Kramer (* = P<0.05). In A, the * represent significant differences among all treatments only at 5 min after peptide application. In BD the * represents only significant differences between the AaegGPRcal1 dsRNA treatment and both controls; there are no significant differences between control treatments (BD).
