CCD requires Rb and p53 pathways. (A) At day 27 BMR cells were stably transfected with plasmids encoding SV40 LT antigen, Large T K1 (a mutant version of LT antigen that inactivates p53 but not Rb), and a control plasmid. Cells transfected with the wild-type LT did not undergo CCD. (B) CCD occurs by necrosis and apoptosis.
