Indicated are the currents measured at different voltages for the FhuA ΔC/Δ4L nanopore in 300-Da PEG cis and 12000-Da PEG trans (circles), 12000-Da cis and 300-Da PEG trans (triangles), and 300-Da PEG symmetric (squares). Solutions were 15% (w/w) PEG, in 1 M KCl and 10 mM potassium phosphate, pH 7.4.
