There was little relation between systolic blood pressure (top) and age in individuals with no history of hypertension, although systolic blood pressure declined above age 85 in hypertensives and rose again above age 93. Diastolic blood pressure (bottom) did not change as a function of age in either group. (B) Systolic and diastolic blood pressures did not vary with age in people who were treated with blood pressure-lowering medications.
