Biochemical properties of constructs at t = 5 wk. Fibrocartilage was treated with either C-ABC alone, TGF-β1 alone, the two agents combined, or left untreated (control). Col/WW (A) exhibited significance among bioactive treatments, with constructs from both cell ratios having the greatest collagen content in the combined treatment. C-ABC and TGF-β1 significantly increased the collagen content in the 50:50 constructs in a beneficial or positive manner. Bioactive treatments significantly decreased GAG/WW (B) compared to controls. Bars not connected by the same letter are significantly different (p < 0.05).
