Burkholderia pseudomallei aerosol infection of C57BL/6 mice induces a neutrophil-predominant cellular response in the alveolar compartment. C57BL/6 mice were infected by deposition of 292 CFU/lung B. pseudomallei or were sham infected under similar conditions. Bronchoalveolar lavage was performed one and 4 days following infection.
