The amino acid sequences retrieved from NCBI protein database (NCBI, ncbi.nlm.nih.gov) (accession numbers ADV88988 for Prx1, ADV87477 for Prx2, NP_459600 for StAhpC, and NP_859047 for hPrx1) were aligned using the CLUSTALW program. Identical sequences (black boxes), similar sequences (gray boxes), conserved sequences in the region of peroxidatic (C_P) and resolving (C_R) cysteines (asterisks), and missing sequences (dashes) are indicated.
