Histological characteristics of the liver grafts on the 7th postoperative day. (A) H&E staining of the rejection group: T-cell infiltration of the portal tracts, bile duct damage, vacuolar degeneration, karyopycnosis and necrosis of hepatocytes were observed. (B) H&E staining of the tolerance group: minimal T-cell infiltration without the involvement of the portal tracts was observed and hepatic parenchyma exhibited no significant damage (×400).
