PN-treated samples were digested by trypsin and/or Glu C and analyzed by LC-MS/MS as described in Materials and Methods. A mass shift of 45 Da due to nitration of each tyrosine in the peptides analyzed by LC-MS/MS was used for the SEQUEST database search (Lin et al., 2010).
