A false-positive case of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) predicting a pathological complete response. (A) No gadolinium enhancement was detected by MRI. (B and C) Histological analysis indicates scattered distribution of invasive breast cancer cells was identified in a scarred area (magnification, ×2 and ×20, respectively). In this case, pathological tumor response was determined as grade 2 according to the Japanese Breast Cancer Society criteria.
