Neither α- nor β-amyrin show inhibition of AEA hydrolysis. (A) FAAH activity was measured by incubating 200 µg of pig brain homogenate with 2 µM of the AEA/[³H]-AEA mixture for 10 min at 37°C after 20 min preincubation with amyrins, PMSF or vehicle. (B) Absolute quantification of the AEA level by GC-MS in 1.8 mg pig brain homogenate after 30 min incubation at 37°C with amyrins, PMSF or vehicle.
