The HAC was identified via the alphoid-20 probe, labeled either in red (A) or green (B) whereas a telomeric probe, labeled in the complementary color, was used to screen for the presence of telomeric sequences. A′ and B′ display a magnification of the regions indicated in A and B, which display the complete metaphase. In panels A and A′ sister chromatids already separated whereas in panels B and B′ they are still connected.
