Comparison of anterior bite forces among apex fish predators using calculated Bite Force Quotients (BFQ). BFQ's correct for absolute differences in bite forces attributable to drastic differences in body size by comparing mass specific residuals. Species with generally average bite strengths for their body size have a BFQ of 100.
