A: Given simulated spike trains of the same length from the FitzHugh-Nagumo model with different levels of noise σ, we estimate the input current I whose true value is 0.05 (indicated by dashed black line). Red stars represents the estimates of I and red bars are their corresponding 95% confidence intervals. The true current values lie within the confidence bounds of every estimate.
