Cardiac H9c2 cells (rat embryonic heart cell line) were labelled with a specific BK_Ca antibody raised against plasma membrane BK_Ca channels and mitotracker. A, signals of BK_Ca were readily observed inside the cell and at the cell periphery indicating plasma membrane expression (arrows). Note that in contrast to adult cardiomyocytes where BK_Ca is absent at the plasma membrane, embryonic heart cells are known to express BK_Ca at the plasma membrane. B, mitotracker labelling.
