The system identification task discussed in this paper. The studies seek to identify a network of proteins (yellow box) that connect the changes in the input (altered vasopressin concentration in extracellular fluid) to changes in the output [change in the amount of active aquaporin-2 (AQP2) in the apical plasma membrane of collecting duct cells].
