Neutrophils incubated for 1 hour with 100 ng/ml LPS alone (LPS) showed increased nuclear accumulation of NF-κB compared with control neutrophils cultured without LPS (CON) or with 10,000 U/ml UTI alone (UTI). Nuclear translocation of NF-κB induced by LPS was not affected by 10,000 U/ml UTI (LPS + UTI). Two additional experiments provided similar results. CON: control, UTI: urinary trypsin inhibitor, LPS: lipopolysaccharide, NF-κB: nuclear factor-kappa B.
