Shown are RNA gel-blot (A) and immunoblot (B) analyses of CaXEGIP1 expression in pepper leaves at various time points after inoculation with the Xcv virulent strain Ds1 (compatible) and avirulent strain Bv5-4a (incompatible) at the six-leaf stage. H, Healthy leaves; Mock, leaves treated with 10 mm MgCl2. Equal loading of total RNA (20 μg per lane) was verified by visualizing ribosomal RNA (rRNA) on a gel stained with ethidium bromide.
