FIG. 1 — Markers of coagulation. Levels of thrombin–antithrombin (TAT) complexes and soluble tissue factor (sTF) were significantly higher in patients with scrub typhus (ST), murine typhus (MT) and scrub and murine typhus combined (SMT) than in febrile controls (FC) or healthy controls (HC). On comparison of ST and MT, TAT complexes and sTF levels were significantly higher in ST. Data are expressed as mean and interquartile range (grey boxes) and upper and lower adjacent values (whiskers) of admission samples. *Odds ratios (95% CIs): TAT complexes, 0.24 (0.13–0.44); sTF, 0.89 (0.78–1.01).
