The model included a 6-cm thick breast with a 1-cm diameter lesion located 3 cm from the collimator face. Line profiles through the simulated 1-cm diameter lesion are displayed to the right of each image. FWHM of the lesion profile for (a) was 0.8 ± 0.2 cm. FWHM could not be determined for (b).
