Relationships between T cell subpopulations and age of rhesus macaques. Blood was recovered from 34 rhesus macaques, stained, and analyzed for T cell subpopulations by flow cytometry. Naïve cells were CD28+ and CD95-, central memory cells were CD28+ and CD95+, and effector memory cells were CD28- and CD95+ [10]. Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated between cell number and age of the animals, and P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
