At all ages, there was a complete separation of weight gain between groups, so that all repeated insulin-induced hypoglycemia (RH) animals were heavier than all control animals. There were significant effects of both age and treatment on weight gain, as well as an interaction between treatment and age: control animals' mean weight was significantly lower than that of RH animals at all ages (all P < 0.0001).
