The numbers in the figures are capillary identification labels. There are 4-mm-long capillaries in a 3 × 5 arrangement in a square lattice and 0.6 mm apart. rc and ri were 0.1 and 1.5 mm, respectively. d was 0.075 mm in A and B and 0.1 mm in C and D. The two different slopes in D means that there was no clear separation in the flow profile transition.
