Inflammatory cell numbers recovered by bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) are increased in mice exposed to aerosolized LPS. Mice were exposed to increasing doses of aerosolized LPS or filtered air, BAL was recovered at 72 hours after exposure using 1 ml saline (0.5 ml twice), and cytospins prepared were analyzed after Wright-Giemsa staining.
