A two dimensional projection of dominant ICP pulses using the local linear embedding (LLE) algorithm to illustrate the difference between Geodesic distance and Euclidean distance between two points on this two-dimensional trajectories. Each dot in this graph is a projection of the original pulse. It can be noted that the calculation of geodesic distance needs to follow the geometric structure of the data and hence may reflect the true distance between two pulses.
