Panel A shows the insertion positions of the transposon for a very highly inserted gene, lysine gingipain, kgp. The blue bars represent the gene sequence. Each red arrow represents the location and orientation of a single insertion in the library. In panel B, we show two examples of essential genes, chromosomal replication initiator protein, dnaA and DNA gyrase subunit ‘B’, gyrB. As shown, there are numerous insertions in the flanking genes extending from the stop of dnaA and to the start and stop of gyrB.
