Wild type MNSE cells grown on transwell permeable supports were mounted in Ussing chambers under short-circuit conditions and sequentially exposed to amiloride, acrolein, forskolin, and CFTR_INH-172. A positive deflection indicates the net movement of an anion from the serosal to the mucosal direction. Note the paradoxical decrease in total ΔI_SC at higher concentrations.
