Catalytic mechanism of YUC flavin monooxygenases. The YUC catalyzed reaction can be divided into a reductive half-reaction and an oxidative half-reaction. The FAD cofactor in YUC6 is first reduced by NADPH, and then it reacts with oxygen to form the C4a-(hydro)peroxy FAD. The C4a-intermediate reacts with IPA to produce IAA.
