ER stress induces an up-regulation of ERp27 mRNA levels. A549 cells were treated with 500 μm H₂O₂ or 400 μm thapsigargin for 24 h. After incubation, total RNA was isolated, reverse transcribed, and used for real time RT-PCR (40 cycles of denaturation, annealing, and elongation). Mean values (±S.E. (error bars)) of four independent experiments representing n-fold mRNA inductions normalized to levels of the housekeeping enzyme glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase are displayed.
